“A” Grading – PLRD
Securitas in Singapore has been Graded “A”(Excellent) for 2015 by the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD)
Since 2008, the PLRD Singapore issued a compulsory requirement for all licensed security guard agencies to be graded. This move augurs well for security firms who are committed to providing top notch service to the rapidly growing local and international clientele buying security services.
This annual audit which has been in place since 2006, scrutinizes a security firm’s operations, management, manpower and leadership qualities, among a host of other criteria. Conducted by PLRD, the evaluation is designed to provide an independent assessment of the agencies to raise overall safety and security levels.
The grading system is based on the “3 Pillars” of Operational Excellence, namely “Operations”, “Training for Operations” and “Support for Operations”. The Ministry of Manpower’s (MOM) criteria on the compliance with employment laws, adoption of good human resource and workplace practices is incorporated into the pillar on “Support for Operations”.
In the long run, this mandatory grading exercise will be useful in helping clients to make better informed decisions when awarding security management deals, and helping to make a quantum leap in raising the professional bar for security services.
